NEW COUNTRY HOUSE – CWM FARM, HEREFORDSHIRE
The proposal to build a new country house combined the design of gardens with wider ranging proposals to restore and enhance the agricultural landscape and wildlife habitats.  The house, entrance court, forecourt, gardens and farm, were conceived and designed as a single entity.  The landscape framework proposals combined existing elements with new works to create a seamless transition within a landscape that has changed only subtly over recent centuries.  The dramatic view of the eastern flank of the Black Mountains provided the principle focal point of the design.

NEW COUNTRY HOUSE – PENDLEY HALL
As a new country house for a private client, Pendley Hall was designed to be the focus for existing mature parkland on the outskirts of Tring.  The selected location adjoins established woodland at the top of a mature chestnut avenue.  The site has wonderful views into the parkland and to the wider landscape beyond.

The gardens are designed to provide a series of spaces around the house that compliment the classical architecture of Robert Adam Architects.  The sheltered walled vegetable garden and east lawn provide quiet seclusion, whilst the ha-ha lawn and forecourt act as viewing platforms for the wider landscape.
