Following legislation requiring the review of Interim Development Order permissions (granted between 1943 and 1948) Colvin and Moggridge were appointed to prepare proposals for the working, restoration, aftercare and afteruse of the Grange Top Quarry, Ketton in Rutland. Planning approval has been given for the proposals and we have undertaken the preparation of contract documentation and supervision for the restoration of the worked quarry area in accord of the planning conditions.
We acted as consultants for the design of a substantial extension to Grange Top Quarry and for the landscape and visual analysis in the Environmental Impact Assessment. The planning application was called in for a public inquiry and Colvin and Moggridge appeared as expert witness for the Company. The inspector’s decision gave permission for the extension in October 2002.
